Kael Christian Bacon, born November 9,2010... he hasn't made an appearance on our sad little excuse for a blog yet, so here he is! Maybe someday I will make a mad post of fun pics from our life here in Cali, but until then enjoy this beautiful photo of our new addition. Who isn't so new anymore. Sigh.

Well folks, the day we never thought would arrive is here - we bought a house!!! Chris ventured out on his own this March, so we were no longer tied to Santa Monica and the west side. Prices drop considerably when you move out about 30 miles.... We weren't really looking, but a trip to Magic Mountain led us to the Valencia suburb in Santa Clarita and we fell in love. It is a great area, a brand new home, good schools, family friendly, and - if you time it right - only a 30-40 minute drive back to the city. Most importantly, what we needed and what we could afford were a little more in line... We are so blessed - thank you so much to all of you who supported our dream of finally owning a home. Come out and visit!

Patio Nightmare

So -

We have this great big enclosed patio on one side of our little pink house, and I am clueless. Indoors, I have ideas to go all day long. Plants and such stump me completely. Thus I have decided to make my own version of "Rate My Space" and get all your ideas! Keep in mind that it has to be kid friendly and client friendly at the same time... tricky, I know. I look forward to hearing from you!

Rockers and Drummers

So I picked Jackson up from preschool today, and he had a huge hole in the knee of his new jeans. I asked him what it was. He informed me that that's how rockers and drummers do it - they wear holes in their jeans! He was quite proud. I later learned that the hole had occurred as he slid across the classroom rug on his knees... He completed the day by coming home and playing the drums on Rock Band. Gotta love it!

For all of you patiently waiting for me to update (again), I beg your forgiveness. The promised Christmas post is in debate, as I completely forgot to bring our camera to Utah in the rush to leave on time.... I struggle. I am trying to compile a few from other cameras - if you have any send them my way!!! Until then, know that we had a wonderful time and felt very blessed this season. Party Time!

I have to admit - I love Halloween! It gives me a chance to dress up and be silly and eat lots of junk.... okay, sometimes that is everyday anyhow but I still love Halloween! We were in a real neighborhood for the first time in our married lives, so we got to have a pumpkin on the porch, hand out candy, and walk down our own street.... such a joy that I took for granted growing up! Courtesy of Grandma B. I enjoyed the night with a beautiful "angel-fairy-princess" and a handsome astronaut. I love it!

I feel like I look silly here, but the costume was great - Natalie put it together from the collection of her boss.... amazing! Check out Damsel In This Dress online sometime!

Chris got to be home this year for the whole experience - yeah!!! He even put on token devil horns for the trunk-or-treat at church, and sported an orange shirt for Halloween night. He loves me!

This is Elora and her friend Aiden - totally unplanned but really cute costumes together!

Grandpa Erdmann will be pround.

We even decorated cookies this year - and got to try out the new aprons that Aunt Katie made - so cute!

The Summer That Forgot How to Blog....

Okay, so maybe I had a really awkward computer set up at our last house, and I hated to take the time to post pictures.... I have been chastised by many. However, the setup has changed, and we had a very eventful summer. So - if you are up for it - here is the longest post you will ever look at. Enjoy!

My cousin Andra and her family came to visit and we got to visit the Santa Monica Pier with them - so much fun!

For Mother's Day I got a Nintendo Wii Fit... ok, the Wii first because Wii Fit was and is still sold out in SoCal. What makes me laugh about this is that I am obviously not the one playing with it... :)

Jaydee, Jackson, Caleb, Elora, Savannah, and Mason - all the Erdmann grand-munchkins! What I love in this one is Jackson's face as he is holding Caleb... he really has no clue what to do!

We got to ride in the paddle boat and go fishing with Grandpa Erdmann at Walsburg! Dream come true for the kids - it was great! They were a little freaked out when they actually caught a fish, though. :)

Yes, my return to the stage.... well, the gymnasium at least. I played Bianca in the Stake musical production of "Kiss Me, Kate"! Totally different experience when you have two kids.... but I would do it again!

Playing Catch Up...

I am getting far too much grief for not updating my blog... so here are a few pics to keep you going until I can find a more ergonomically friendly place to put my computer!

Words cannot describe how cute this was.... pics are not great, but the story is! This is the playroom at Grandma and Grandpa Bacon's St. George house. Jackson formed a band! He would tap his heel and say " A 1, 2, 3, 4!" then play the guitar like a bass! It was great! He had Maddie on vocals, and Hailee and Elora on the maracas and tambourine. SO CUTE!!!

All boy, this one.... falls asleep while scratching....
This is common for Elora - she loves to sit in the hall and read late at night, so we often find her here with her stories.
Look at how long her hair is getting! Unfortunately, it's like mine - ultra straight and fine...
I couldn't find Jackson, but the drawers were empty and Elora was on her bed like she'd swallowed the canary.... she reluctantly pointed to the drawer where he was curled up and shut in as snug as a bug!

Best buds... Jackson calls her "My friend, Eella".

And I have a true girl also - she loves dress up! That she gets from her mother. :)

This is what I found when Jackson called me into the bathroom one night. He is a creative little monkey, isn't he? If you don't understand, look closer at the upper portion of the two kids in the shower. That is a spit wad the size of a tennis ball... one of four I found! Jackson was very proud of his "snowball"! The tub was full of floaties - yummy!

Sledding - finally!

Ever since my mom came to visit in the fall, the kids have been talking about sledding in the snow. Finally, at Christmas, we got our chance!! Both kids loved it - the little sleigh was very popular. Getting back up the hill - that's another story....

Both Jackson and Elora got the chance to sit on Santa's lap at the ward Christmas Party! Neither one would look at him though.... a sign of naughty or nice?

Christmas morning was spent at Uncle Casey's house! It is such a thrill to watch them tip toe down the stairs to see what Santa brought... magic for one and all! I didn't get nearly the pictures I wanted (I was caught up in the moment). Jackson got a scooter, and Elora a play kitchen. We had a wonderful morning as a family - we are truly blessed.

We got to go to Disneyland when Steve and Cherie came to visit, and I forgot to post the pics!! The kids had a great time - can you tell? It was an adventure to ride the rides with four kids between the ages of 2 and 3....
